Modelling is now integral to many areas of practical geology. It is an essential complement to field work and traditional geological methods.
We use commercial software but also develop our own applications tailored to specific tasks and areas of use.
What processes do we model?
- Natural hazard processes such as rockslides, unconfined debris flows/spontaneous landslides, debris/mud flows, avalanches and flooding
- Groundwater flows with pollutant propagation
- Geophysics and geotechnics (stability, layer boundaries, etc.)
Visualisation is done using GIS, CAD or special 3D geology software, depending on the data situation.
ROFMOD - proven rockfall modeling on 2D profiles
With ROFMOD, rockfall processes are modeled on 2D terrain profiles. The software has been used successfully in numerous projects for more than 20 years.
The model approach is characterized in particular by easily definable model parameters (surface roughness, damping of the substrate) and by a very realistic modeling of the forest effect.
For the current version 5 the functionality has been significantly extended and the user interface has been completely revised.
