ROFMOD 5 - proven rockfall modeling on 2D profiles
ROFMOD is a rockfall process model for 2D terrain profiles. The software has been used successfully in numerous projects for more than 20 years.
The model approach is characterized by easily definable model parameters (surface roughness, damping of the substrate) and by its particularly realistic results when applied to forested areas.
In the current version (Version 5) the functionality has been significantly extended and the user interface has been completely revised.
NEW: Scenario Manager
The software includes a deterministic model approach. This means that the user defines specific model parameters (block axes, ground parameters, starting zone, etc.) for a defined scenario, which greatly facilitates the control and interpretation of the results.
Various scenarios can now be defined and modeled in parallel in a single project. The Scenario Manager allows you to manage the various settings of the model parameters and thus offers an efficient analysis of the modeling results
NEW: Module Protective Measures
ROFMOD version 5 provides the module 'Protective Measures'. This facilitates simulation of the effects of a falling block on a protective dam or net. The results of the simulation provide the basis for selection and dimensioning of a suitable protective measure.
The simulation is based on a newly developed rheological approach. This approach was both compared with the common method of the static equivalent force method and calibrated by means of documented field tests.
Safety Net (Coming soon)
The simulation results facilitate optimized site selection for dynamic network barriers.
Originally developed by GEOTEST for the processing of rockfall projects, ROFMOD is also available to our customers.
