PENETRATING TO THE HEART OF A STRUCTURE
When restoring or renovating an existing building or structure, it is important to have the best possible estimate of conditions beneath the surface. Of particular interest are things like the thickness of structural elements, the location of pipes and cables, and the presence of structural defects or weathering damage.
The techniques used include non-destructive testing methods such as high-resolution GPR, impact-echo and ultrasound echo, as well as ultrasound transmission. These enable the structure of a building to be investigated and defects to be located and quantified.
